Careers

We are rewiring how the work gets done.

We run an open door policy for the right people. If what follows sounds like you, get in touch.

What we’re about now

Doghouse is changing.

We’ve been building digital platforms for government and enterprise for nearly two decades. That work stays.

What changes is how we do it.

Every role is now AI first. Workflows are being rebuilt, not optimised. The expectation is simple: automate the repeatable parts so more time goes into thinking, judgment and craft.

APPROACH
AI first, across every role
WORKFLOWS
Rebuilt, not optimised
EXPECTATION
Automation is part of the job
FOCUS
More thinking, less repetition
TEAM
Small, senior, high ownership

Who we're looking for.

Five ways to know the shoe fits.

Curious by default.

You've used AI tools beyond the novelty stage. You've built something productive with them.

Your workflow has been turned upside down and you've come out the other side faster, not slower.

Entrepreneurial.

You don't wait for someone to hand you a process. You see a broken workflow and you fix it.

With code, with automation, with a prompt, with a new approach entirely.

Rewired.

You ask "should this even exist as a task?" before you ask "how do I do this task?" A job done manually today might not need a human touching it next quarter.

You find that freeing.

You ship.

You lean into the unknown. You'd rather try something and learn than plan forever.

The fastest path to knowing whether an idea works is to build a rough version and see what happens.

You care about the craft.

Government and enterprise clients trust us with high stakes platforms.

AI first is how we go faster. It's not a licence to go sloppy. The craft still matters.

What we don't want.

Being direct about this saves everyone's time.

Engineers who only want to build with the tools they learned five years ago.

People who treat AI as a threat to route around rather than a capability to embrace.

Anyone looking for a stable, predictable career ladder. We don't have one, and we're not sure anyone does anymore.

People who see automation and think "that's not my job." At Doghouse, it is now.

The roles we're watching for.

Engineers

Front end, back end, full stack. You build with AI in the loop, not around it. Complex migrations, deep platform work.
  • JavaScript
  • K8
  • PHP

AI and automation.

You've shipped real systems, not just demos. You know where the current tooling breaks and how to work around it.
  • LLMs
  • Agents
  • Pipelines
  • Python

Product.

You reason about systems, users and LLMs in the same sentence. You shape work without a rulebook and know when to hold the line on quality.
  • Discovery
  • Systems
  • LLMs

Platform and DevOps.

Modern infrastructure at production scale. AI assisted ops isn't a pitch. It's how you already work.
  • AWS
  • Containers
  • IaC
  • Observability

Delivery.

Project and delivery people who've rebuilt their own workflows. You help teams do the same. Less admin, more outcomes.
  • Process
  • Teams
  • Async

Tell us anyway if the shoe fits.

Some of the best people we've hired didn't fit a category we'd already written down.

Expectations.

A few things to know before you send anything through.

We don't always get to read every resume. Don't worry if you don't hear back. We'd love to respond to everyone, but we're a small team and the volume doesn't always allow it.

We keep your details on file. When the right fit comes along, we go to what we've already got first. Applying now is genuinely worth it, even if nothing's advertised.

We're not doing internships at the moment. We have in the past, and we may again. For now we're focused on experienced people who can move fast with us.

We hire in Perth and Melbourne and we work distributed. Where you're based matters less than how you work.

Tell us what you do. Show us something you've built.
